National Retail Federation Student Association Event Coordinator
I became involved with the National Retail Federation Student Association (NRFSA) during my junior year of college. It was through NRFSA that I connected with Pri Fraizer, a college recruiter from Macy’s. Our discussions about Macy’s culture and internship program sparked my interest, leading me to apply for and utimately securing a buyer intern role. It was an amazing opportunity and grew my love for retail buying.
Grateful for the doors NRFSA opened for me, I knew I wanted to help my peers in their career development as NRFSA had done for me. This led me to apply for the Event Coordinator postion within NRFSA. In this role, my primary responsibility was to connect and schedule guest speakers who can offer mentorship and guidance to our members on campus.
During my time as Event Coordinator, I organized sessions with distinguished professionals such as Michelle Wrubel, Director of Digtial Marketing and Communications at L’Oreal Paris; Sarah Yi, Director of Sales at Retrofete and Mint Showroom; Katherine Watercutter, CEO and founder of Gold Hinge. In selecting our guest speakers, my goal was to provide our members with exposure to various facets of the retail and fashion industries, highlighting everyone’s unique career journey that is ever-evolving.
